Icelandic Horse painting

I have penciled in a very rough sketch of Dyfra pacing and have been adding low mountains, some clouds, bit of water and mid ground features..still have to pencil in the foreground rocks and grass. The landscape will look like some place along the Coast where the mountains meet the sea. Rather like many of the places in the Puget Sound.
Where I want very dark areas I place an x, that way I will not forget as the painting progresses.

Couldn't help myself.. had to color in her eye first. Then I started to work on the storm clouds next and figuring out what method I like best for applying the watercolor. I have decided I like the Wet on Wet method best for the clouds, as it looks more natural to me.

Once I am done with the clouds I will work on the Mountains and so on. The Icelandic will most likely be the last part I paint and still at a toss up, to what color to paint the Dyfra.
This is a large painting and will take me quite awhile to complete it.

Close up of her eye... is a bit blurry.

Nexus ~ Abstract

I have taken my love of reflections and instead of my usual circles, I have used loose Ovals and smooth interlocking cross hatch shapes flowing into infinity, to design this Fractal digital Abstract painting.
And as always.. I use my own Mathematical algorithms.

Pintail Duck paintng is finished!

For some reason the scanner lightened the water despite the adjustments I made and doesn't show the green as well but I am happy with the results.
I will be putting this up on all my online shops with in a week and will offer the original for sale on Etsy. Normally I don't like to sell my originals but sadly it is "needs must".

Pintail Duck WIP~7

I am nearly finished...just a few details still to do and thinking on wither or not to make the water a little darker?

Leaves on Linen ~ Abstract

I have taken my love of reflections and instead of my usual circles, I have used loose squares and smooth flowing shapes, to design this Fractal digital Abstract painting. My DH thinks this one looks like Leaves on Linen.. hence its title.
And as always.. I use my own Mathematical algorithms.

New Abstract painting~ Adumbrate

I was thinking this sphere looks like a planet falling into a worm hole or maybe planet starting into an eclipse phase.... DH said it was a bowling ball going through a window.........
Is interesting what one Abstract digital painting can inspire in peoples imaginations.
What does every one think?

Pintail Duck WIP~6

Am starting to make some headway. Did the first wash of color for the reflection and the first layer of color for the water in the front. Worked on the Duck's feathers a bit more.
Added the third layer of color to the water, will need to work on the reflection a little more. Have added some more details to the bigger feathers but still have more to do on the striped feathers and the Duck's head.

A Star is Born ~ Abstract

Always wondered what a new born Star would look like,,, here is my fanciful fractal digital abstract take on what a newly formed star would look like.

Balancing Act ~ Abstract

I have moved away from my circle reflections as you can see. There are still reflections, though shown a little more loosely with a different combination of shapes. Used bright cheerful spring like colors for this Digital Fractal creation.

Tapestry

This digital fractal Art, isn't my usual creation, started thinking of one idea and ended up with a digital painting that looks like Abstract Tapestry Fabric.

Pintail Duck WIP~5

Finally finished with the first inking layer for the Duck's feathers. I expect to do at least two more layers before I will be finished with that part of the body.
Added another layer of color to the water on the far side of the duck. I will not add any more color until I can start working on the water in the rest of the painting.

Pintail Duck WIP~4

Started adding the first layers of color for the water on the far side of the duck and have been inking all those tiny little stripes. I need to do two more layers of color on the water, also decided not to do the water like it is in my photo. Want something a bit more blue/ green and darker.

Useful Art ~ A great idea in todays economy

I truly wish I could write.... then I could pen something snappy here to get your attention, keep you enthralled, entertained and get you to smile....and maybe buy a little Art, even the useful kind.
Like a Coffee cup with some stunning Art on it to help start your day. ;O)
Here's a mug that all but says... Hands off!

First Skein of Coopworth Yarn is almost finished~

Here is the finished Skein. There will be another one just like it coming along in a few days.

I am finding this yarn really interesting, it is "Heathered" but it seems to change shades of color depending on the light. Here you see a close up.

You can see the penny showing how thick the yarn is. I did do a Wraps per Inch, which puts it in the Fingering size. I will re measure it and weight the skein, before I put it up for sale at my Esty Shop.

All my skeins are very gently washed hot water with Eucalan wool wash, this is to make sure the yarn is very clean before it is put up for sale. I also set all my yarn because I feel, this makes a more durable yarn. It takes more work but I feel it is important to offer the best quality product I can.

Pintail Duck WIP~3

Still inking away at all the millions of stripes... yes.. I do believe it feels like they have multiplied from the thousands I previously said. LOL
Right now I am just doing the first layer of ink, once I have the duck totally striped in.. will go back and darken and add highlights.
Sooner or later I will also have to think about what I am going to do with the water part of the painting.

Ply Coopworth Yarn Video.

Ever wanted to see how a spinning wheel works?

I had my DS do a video short of me Plying the Coopworth yarn.

This 2 ply yarn is measuring 16 Wraps per inch, which would put it in the category of Fingering yarn. Only way I can describe the color is... a Heathered very light beige/grey.

Would make a beautiful sweater, hat, scarf or what ever your heart desires.

Please excuse the house clothes.
