Above is the first layer of color on Pooka. Pooka is Robin's beautiful Miniature Horse stallion.
Christmas eve, I was able to work on Robin's Pooka a bit. Second layer of color on his body and worked on his eye a bit. Hard to see because of the glare from the camera. Am trying something new, so not sure it will turn out the way I want. Water based Oils on Hot press paper.
Here is a close up on his face.... Still a lot more to do.
Playing cards I ordered, came in a few days ago. I bought them to check on the print Quality and to test them long term. I can say the Print quality is excellent. The family has been playing cribbage with these cards for the last few evenings. They are the perfect thickness and the card stock is excellent. Will keep you up to date on how they are holding up, over the next month. These cards are made in the USA by the Bicycle company,,, also printed in the USA.
I am having issues with my Cat on the Art desk painting, so I have put that aside for now, so I can think. In the mean time, I have started on Pooka, Robin's beautiful miniature horse. Penciled him in and now adding a halo type background, little under half way done with the halo.
I used the last of my Brecknock Hill Cheviot fleece, from when I used to raise them, to make this blend of Brecknock Hill and Llama yarn. I used Llama to add a bit of softness.
The yarn is a medium course, will be hard wearing. You could make a sweater or socks out of it.
This morning it is having it's, "setting" bath and as soon as it is dry, will weight it and get it up on my Esty Shop. Have a little more of this to ply up, so I will have two skeins to offer for sale, within the next week.

Of course, it being 71* yesterday, perfect for outside chores and horse rides.. I was in doing Art. LOL Worked on the pencils a little more and started working on the wood desk. Applied the watercolor pencil to paper before I added water this time. Not something I normally do. Seemed to work for the wood grain I was looking for.
These are just a few of the photographs I captured yesterday and have added to my Image Kind Gallery.
I should have these added to my other Galleries and online shops in the next week. If you are interested in different products with these photographs, please let me know. Would be more than happy to get them made up for you!
Two of the older pieces I have done... back in O6, mini canvas 4x4" below and above, on Slate, about the same size. Figured I would get a couple of these scanned in, maybe put up in a few of my Art Shops. Most of them I gave away, but I did keep a couple.
Am adding the first layer of color to the paint brushes, vase, and pencils. Have also started to do some shadow work around Nari and the future art works she is laying on. You can see I have been working on the window casings. Trying a couple of different methods with them, as I am curious to see how they it will work.
Finally had time to work on my latest painting. Added the first couple layers of the Wall color and started on the window. Need many more layers of color before I have the depth that I am looking for. Painted in one of the table legs, as I was trying a small experiment. Hence the odd looking black thing, floating at the bottom. Unlike most of my paintings, I have decided to work with the background first. Not sure how that is going to work out... but time will tell.
Earth or a Earth like planet coming out of a cave, over a water Fall... or is it flowing on the water spilling out of the cave? This mysterious happenings can be hard to explain on this Alien World with Worlds! Not sure what to call this piece, seems to need something special, any ideas?
I started out creating a pastoral scene... peaceful without doing odd things to planets.
Well.... as you can see, (pun intended) my creative fingers decided differently. It went from a normal Well... to possibly being Magical... then the plants ended up being a bit different... and ... oh heck with it... doesn't look right without a planet or two...
So here you go... an Alien World... or possibly Earth of the future?
This is the piece I was working on rendering... during a storm.
For some reason, I am enjoying the surreal near Earth objects... LOL The Earth and a few planets, moon and tree in a Crystal bowl and outside of it, sitting on a table in an Alien World. It was a toss up between the flowers to add color... or a small toy train on its side... Could remove the flowers and add the train.....
I was planning on riding this morning, to post No Trespassing signs on the back property, but the weather has dictated other wise... So I figured I would get started with the first layers of background color in the window. Am going to do a little more blurring than you see in the photo, with the window, so it will make Nari, "pop" more, once the painting is done.
The Icelandic Horse Painting is finished and I want to Thank Andrea Barber for her use of the photograph I based this painting off of her two, very special Icelandic Horses. It was created with, water based Oils on Canvas. Hopefully I will be able to get this piece added to my online shops in the next couple of weeks..... just depends on how HughesNet is working.
Art Studio is finally finished.... OK... well almost. I need to put some shelves on one wall for all my brushes and I really, really need either a print(Like Mt Rainier with the stars overhead) or a pretty quilt to go over that ugly panel, in between the curtains. Any ideas for that??
A close up photo, thought it was a bit more moody. ;O)
Decided to go through some of my photographs this morning. Ones I have been meaning to put up in my online shops, but never had the time. Above is an Majestic Tiger at the Portland Zoo in Oregon and below,, Nari, our Maine Coon cat, trying to warm her feet on Dyfra's back.
