Took Maggie for a hand walk in the snow, through the woods, to the Pond yesterday. Took a quick snap... It is not easy, carrying a camera, walking with a cane and holding Maggie's lead line. But as usual, Maggie was very good about it.
Decided to play with this photograph, using two computer programs and this is what I came up with.
As with all my Art, it is NOT part of Public Domain and is copyrighted.
Ever so slowly moving along with the Japanese Castle. Inked the stairs in and worked on the extension of the Castle. Is going to quite a bit of work to hand color each piece of Stone, but worth it. Still have the last part of the Castle to do. Once that is done, will finish up the sky.
Had a lot of fun working on the Japanese Castle yesterday. Added a lot of highlights...though they are hard to see in this photo. Started working on the Stone base, of the castle.... will take me about 6 hours in total to Ink in the foundation, not including adding color later on. As with all my Art, it is Copyrighted and NOT part of Public Domain.
I was going to wait until I Inked the whole Castle in, before adding some color. But yesterday I decided to add 2 layers of base color on the main body of the building, before I did more Ink over the top of that. In the photo DH took, the Castle is real dark.... as the photo was taken on a day with very heavy cloud cover. I think I will lighten the Castle up a bit, in the painting.
After making bread, starting laundry and so on, this morning.....figured I had better find some time for my Art. Even have a pet plant, who's species was around during the time of the Dinosaurs. Continuing work on the Japanese Castle.
I will get the first layer of Ink on, then go back and deepen the highlights.
Continuing with the Pen and Ink work, about half way done with that part. Once all the inking is finished, will add more highlights and a soft color to the main part of the Castle. As with all my Art, it is NOT part of public Domain and is copyrighted.
Ever so slowly working on the Japanese Castle. The shear amount of detail this piece will have, is mind boggling even to me. Sunshine is streaming through the window. Have been a bit torn about working on this and wanting to be outside. So I decided to work on the Castle first... then go outside. As with all my Art, it is copyrighted and NOT part of public domain.
They want me to add the tables, shelving, desk and so on, to my tax form, along with the room size I use and so on. Most of my stuff is old and not worth much..... however... This will increase what I pay them, by a lot. They told me, they have no idea what the tax will be until April.
They told me I could talk with the Board member in charge of these taxes... but reading between the lines, doubt they would change the taxes for Artists.
If I don't make more than last year, I will be closing things down in April or when I do the Fed/State taxes, which ever is first.
As it is..I am paying for the internet I need, from DH pay check, since the net costs so much here.
Had a good run in Oregon, no stupid fees/taxes or permits. Was able to cover all costs and pay for modest Art supplies.
Here, it is just not possible.
So if anyone wants to purchase any of my Art... you have until April. sigh ~~
As many of you know, I started doing Art again 7 years ago, to help myself control the pain I had, after breaking my back. It gave me something to focus on and help elevate stress. Started selling when friends and family wanted to buy my Art. I Thank each and everyone of you, for standing by me and supporting my Art.
Now I need to go make bread and beat on something....
Have been slowly working on the Japanese Castle. At this point, only doing Ink work. As with all my Art, it is Copyrighted and NOT part of public Domain.
Started working on the Japanese Castle based on one of DH's photos he took while in Japan, a number of years ago. The sky has been done in a base color and is not complete. The Japanese castle will be in Pen and Ink and at a later date, will add a slight amount of watercolor pencil wash. This is the most technical painting/drawing I have done for awhile. Last one was my cat Mia in Urban Jungle.
Decided to remove any ads, as I was finding them rather annoying to deal with.
One thing I personally hate is wading through, ad after ad to try to read a post or see the photographs.
Figured many would feel the same way.
About the Artist
~~Shari's work explores the relationship between Trompe l'oeil and surreal Abstracts. With influences as diverse as Leonardo da Vinci and Buckminster Fuller, new variations are generated from both explicit and implicit dialogues. Ever since she was a child, she has been fascinated by the theoretical limits of all Art. What starts out as vision soon becomes contemporaneously into a hegemony of wild abandonment, leaving only a sense of peace or chaos with the stroke of a pen and with the likelihood of a new reality. As wavering derivatives become clarified or distorted through diligent and critical practice, depending on my mood, the viewer is left with a new agenda of dream like thoughts or questions of our condition. Art should always be fun and experimental.
